Protesters want cheaper opt-out for PSO's 'smart meters'

PSO customers have to pay an extra $28 a month on top of a one-time $71 fee to opt out of the program that allows the utility company to collect meter readings remotely and monitor the hour-by-hour usage of electricity in a home.
