Welltower reports declines in 1st quarter

Welltower Inc. said Friday its funds from operations — the chief metric the real estate investment trust uses to gauge its success — declined slightly in the first quarter to $383 million, or $1.05 a share. Funds from operations were $401 million, or $1.13 a share in the first quarter of 2016.
