U.S., Canada agree to reduce lake phosphorus

The U.S. and Canadian governments officially came on board Monday with a pledge to reduce algae-growing phosphorus entering Lake Erie by 40 percent in the coming years, joining a chorus of Great Lakes governors, state environmental regulators, and other policymakers who agree with scientists that that should be the goal.
