Toledo officials admit error on $8.2M in budget

Toledo officials admitted Monday that the $8.2 million sitting idle in a fund for five years was in fact not restricted tax-increment financing funds - reversing weeks of maintaining that assertion - and the money was eventually shifted around with municipal accounting corrections that will now let the city use it. The city's 2016 annual financial report that was completed June 30 indicates most, if not all, of that money can be used this year.
