Thunderstorms bring much-needed rain to the area

A car sends out a spray of water on Dorr Street during a heavy rainfall late Friday afternoon in Toledo. Although the National Weather Service said Doppler radar indicated localized rainfalls in Ottawa Hills, West Toledo, and nearby areas of up to 2 inches or more, the official rainfall at Toledo Express Airport from the fast-moving thunderstorm was just 0.04 of an inch. Toledo Executive Airport in Lake Township recorded only 0.02 of an inch.
