Red Wings open final Joe Louis Arena season Oct. 17

The Detroit Red Wings will open their final season at Joe Louis Arena with a home contest against the Ottawa Senators at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 17, according to the 2016-17 schedule released by the NHL on Tuesday.
