Ohio deer firearm season totals drop

Ohio’s full week of firearms season for white-tailed deer closed at 30 minutes after sundown Sunday, and the harvest totals for the week showed a drop from the same period in the previous year. The decrease in the harvest was not a surprise, because the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ management practices in recent years have been focused on a gradual reduction in the overall herd size to keep it more in balance with available habitat.
