Mine workers endorse GOP’s Portman

The United Mine Workers union Thursday endorsed incumbent U.S. Sen. Rob Portman (R., Ohio) in his re-election bid against former Gov. Ted Strickland, a switch from the union’s past support of Mr. Strickland.
