Marks record warmth, rainfall for states

December marked the first time in recorded history that the contiguous United States had both record warmth and record rainfall in a single month, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration told reporters in a national teleconference today. For the entire year, 2015 was the Lower 48's second warmest on record and third wettest, the agency said.
