Local singer pays it forward

Crystal Bowersox performed Friday at the Diabetes Youth Services Little Shots Day Camp at Olander Park in Sylvania. The camp is for children with Type 1 diabetes. Ms. Bowersox, who has diabetes and attended the camp when she was a child, is making stops at diabetes camps and events nationwide this month as part of her role as a diabetes ambassador for Lilly Diabetes. The recording artist and ‘American Idol’ runner-up from Elliston, Ohio, also signed autographs for the children.
