Local players dreaming of U.S. Open

PORT CLINTON — About half of the 156 golfers in next month’s U.S. Open at Oakmont will receive a golden ticket straight into the tournament. They are the best players in the world, most of them veterans on the PGA Tour and millionaires several times over.
