Kynard falls short in Olympic medal quest

RIO DE JANEIRO — Toledo native Erik Kynard, Jr., cleared 2.33 meters to make the final six in the Olympic high jump competition tonight but was eliminated short of a medal when he fouled three times at the following height of 2.36 meters.
