Kasich was vetted as Trump’s potential running mate

CLEVELAND — Ohio Gov. John Kasich was vetted as Donald Trump’s potential running mate within three weeks after Mr. Kasich ended his presidential campaign May 4, but — despite a New York Times report to the contrary that was published today — the Trump campaign now claims it never offered to bring Mr. Kasich on board.
