Karst concerns amplified for state officials during sinkhole tour

PETERSBURG, Mich. — Twenty-five people, including a few Michigan Department of Environmental Quality employees from the agency’s Lansing headquarters, likely have a little better understanding this area’s vulnerability to karst-prone bedrock after touring some notorious sinkholes in southwest Monroe County.
