Interest in houseplants grows because of Pinterest, 'Fixer Upper'

Houseplants never fully disappeared from our homes — unlike shag carpeting — but it's only been within the last few years that their popularity in the 1970s has resurged as Americans, Millennials in particular, are (re)discovering the joy, benefits, and ease of care of leafy green friends in their homes.
