Ex-chief guilty of misdemeanor

PORT CLINTON — Former Put-in-Bay Police Chief Ric Lampela’s conduct didn’t reach the level of menacing, much less aggravated menacing, when he pointed a gun at one of the department’s officers five years ago during a quiz about the U.S. Constitution’s Second Amendment, a judge ruled Thursday.
