English have left a positive imprint on Indian subcontinent

The recent passing of Maureen Lines, an untiring social worker, in Peshawar, Pakistan, brings to mind the stories of some remarkable Brits who, after the hurried and somewhat ignominious departure of the British from the Indian subcontinent, either stayed back or came later to India and Pakistan to serve the people. In doing so, they redeemed the good name of their country and their people.
