Commissioners back off Angola Road jail plan

Lucas County commissioners are again searching for a location to build a new $145 million jail after they backed off plans to build the facility on Angola Road. The original plan called for construction of a 650-bed jail - and a state-funded 150-bed community-based correctional facility - on 30 acres just west of South Byrne Road.
