Civil rights advocate Angela Davis speaks at UT
Angela Davis, a civil rights activist, scholar, and author, kicked off the University of Toledo’s Black History Month events with a speech Saturday. About 1,000 people packed UT’s Student Union and many more were able to watch the event as it was broadcast live, Kaye Patten, the senior vice president for Student Affairs at UT, said in an earlier interview. Ms. Davis, 73, has advocated against racism, sexism, and the U.S. prison system for decades.
