APS Board of Education hears benefits of preschool program

The Akron Public Schools Early Learning Program is "one of the best investments we can make" in our children, said APS Board of Education member Patrick Bravo at the Feb. 22 meeting. The ELP is licensed by the Ohio Department of Education and currently has 560 preschoolers enrolled, 269 with disabilities and Individualized Education Programs and 291 without, said Patricia Cronin, the program's coordinator.
