Activists mark anniversary of Fermi 1 meltdown

MONROE — Anti-nuclear activists today are commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Fermi 1 partial meltdown, which at the time was one of America's biggest nuclear mishaps and was reported to authorities precisely 3:09 p.m. on Oct. 5, 1966.
