Nominee for Western District U.S. Attorney heads to Senate for confirmation vote

A career federal prosecutor tapped by President Donald Trump to serve as U.S. attorney for Louisiana's sprawling Western District is headed for a U.S. Senate confirmation vote after receiving a committee nod Thursday morning. David C. Joseph, who currently serves as an assistant U.S. attorney in the Western District, sailed through the U.S. Senate's Judiciary Committee without any discussion or opposition.
