Will ‘Nordstrom’ defense work for State Auditor Troy Kelley?

The opening days of Washington State Auditor Kelley’s federal trial unveiled a “Nordstrom return-policy” defense. Kelley’s lawyers said that when Kelley ran a real-estate services company, he was trying to keep customers satisfied by sometimes paying refunds. The government has charged him with stealing millions of dollars.
