It was impossible to watch Baltimore last week and not think of Claudia Rankine’s book, Citizen: An American Lyric, the latest printing of which features this dedication page:Claudia Rankine's Citizen is the first book ever to be simultaneously a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award in Poetry and the National Book Critics Circle Award in Criticism.
