This is what glaciers did to Mars

Once upon a time Mars had glaciers. It had a big ice sheet, too. We know this, scientists say, because of tell tale signs they left behind. The interesting photo above (a zoomable version is below) released on Thursday, shows clearly the scaring, ridging and channel cutting of glaciers from "multiple episodes of glaciation within the past several hundred million years."
