Sen. Tim Sheldon picked as president pro-tem of GOP-controlled state Senate

Sen. Tim Sheldon will likely be the state Senate’s next president pro tem. In that largely ceremonial role, Sheldon, a Democrat who caucuses with Republicans, will fill in when the lieutenant governor is unavailable.
