Seattle City Council votes on sugary beverage tax

The tax, which passed with a vote of 7-1, enacts a tax of 1.75 cents per ounce on sweetened drinks like soda, sports and energy drinks. It does not, however, include diet drinks, something critics have said makes the plan regressive.
