Sea Shepherd releases graphic Japanese whaling footage
On Tuesday, the Sea Shepherd Conservation society released three minutes of footage obtained by the Australian government during a customs mission in 2008 that shows the Japanese whaling fleet hunting minke whales in Australian waters near Antarctica. Though the footage was the focus of a freedom of information request in 2012, it had not been released for fear it might damage Australia's relationship with Japan, according to ABC News Australia.
