Race to Alaska by sail, paddle: daring dash for a $10,000 prize

Early in June, a motley fleet of small boats will assemble off Port Townsend, and at the sound of a starting gun, race northward. Later that month — or perhaps the next month — one of them will arrive in Ketchikan, Alaska, to collect a $10,000 prize and some rare bragging rights.
