Justice Department expands access to federal databases for Washington state tribes

The expansion will give tribes access to the federal database some gun dealers use to run background checks on customers. The owner of a gun used in the 2014 shooting at Marysville-Pilchuck High School should not have been able to buy the gun because of a prior restraining order in tribal court, but the order was never entered into the federal database.
