Even whales have to exfoliate

Around 1845, whalers started calling bowheads “rock-nosed whales” after seeing them rub their heads on boulders. But recently a scientist had a thought: What if they were “using these rocks like humans using pumice stones, to get rid of calluses or dead skin?”
