Commander of 1st flight of space shuttle Challenger dies

Paul Weitz, who as a NASA astronaut in 1973 piloted the Skylab orbiting space laboratory and in 1983 commanded the first flight of the space shuttle Challenger, has died in Flagstaff, Ariz., at 85.
