Blood markers may predict risk for active TB, study finds

Scientists in Seattle and South Africa have found blood markers that may identify which patients infected with tuberculosis are at high risk for developing the potentially deadly illness. About 2.4 billion people worldwide are infected with TB, but less than 10 percent get sick.
