Biotech veteran engineers algae breakthrough for biofuel

J. Craig Venter, the scientist who mapped the human genome, teamed with Exxon Mobil in using advanced cell engineering to more than double the fatty lipids inside a strain of algae. The work could eventually enable widespread commercialization of algae-based biofuels.
