Apartment fire on St. Paula s West Side injures 5

Thanks to a garden hose, a St. Paul apartment fire early Saturday morning wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been. St. Paul Fire Marshal Steve Zaccard said crews were called to a nine-unit, three-story apartment building in the 30 block of Baker Street West just after 4:20 a.m. There, they found a "hectic scene" where a one-alarm fire was filling the building with smoke.
