Suspected DUI Crash Has Sacramento High School Mourning Students’ Deaths

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A Sacramento high school ready to celebrate the end of the school year is instead mourning the deaths of two students.
Police say 17-year-olds Daniel Lu and Pearl Espinoza were in a Toyota Camry on Thursday night that was struck by a pickup truck on Power Inn Road near 39th Street. Both later died at the hospital.
Taylor Spier, 23, was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence.
