Suffocated Salmon Had Survived Oroville Dam Spillway Emergency

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) – A quarter-million hatchery salmon survived the near-collapse of a California dam’s spillway this winter, only to suffocate after a pump failed this week, officials said Thursday.
