Sacramento Closes Some Floodgates As Water Rises

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Rising water has forced the City of Sacramento to close some floodgates.
The gates at Northgate and Del Paso Boulevard are now shut – something that hasn’t been done since 2012.
The 14-foot tall steel gates protect the North Sacramento neighborhood from flooding.
Cars and bicyclists now have to take a detour, and the closure of that busy intersection has caught some people off guard.
