Planned ‘Raftopia’ Event Prompts Alcohol Ban On American River

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Officials have issued an alcohol ban along part of the American River in anticipation of another “Raftopia” event.
The event – which is scheduled for Saturday – did not get a permit, according to the Sacramento County Regional Parks. Noting their concern over Raftopia’s apparently strong focus on drinking alcohol, officials handed down the ban over public safety concerns.
