Nearly 5,000 Left Without Power In Downtown Sacramento

6:53 p.m. EDIT: Power has been restored to most residents, with nearly 900 left without power. SMUD estimates power will be back on before 8 p.m.

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Nearly 5,000 people are without power in Downtown Sacramento, according to the Sacramento Municipal Utilities District.
The outage started 5:47 p.m. and is estimated to be restored around 6:50 p.m. tonight.
Temperatures in the area are in the low to mid 90s.
The cause  is unknown.
