Man Donates Record-Breaking $38.5 Million To UC Davis After Glaucoma Treatment

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) – A 91-year-old real estate investor has donated $38.5 million to University of California Davis, the largest amount from a single person in the school’s history.
Ernest Tschannen decided to give the money to UC Davis after receiving glaucoma treatment at one of its clinics, the university said Thursday.
It will benefit eye research, clinics and training.
