Hundreds Spend Christmas Morning Without Power in Modesto

Modesto, Calif (CBS13) —  Hundreds of Modesto Irrigation District customers were still without power on Christmas Day after 12 power poles were knocked over when a tree fell on power lines on Coffee Road.  National Weather Service crews were on the ground looking at the damage and assessing whether or not a Tornado touched down in the area.
The National Weather Service tells CBS13’s Leigh Martinez that straight-line winds up to 80 miles per hour caused the tree to fall
