Butte County Sheriff: Evacuation May Not End Until Oroville Dam Fixes Completed

OROVILLE, Calif. (CBS/AP) — The Butte County sheriff says repairs to the Oroville Dam spillway may need to be made before residents are allowed to return home.
Sheriff Kory Honea didn’t say how long the fixes could take and didn’t give a timetable for lifting the evacuation order. He says it was difficult to decide to ask people to leave their homes, and that their primary purpose is to ensure safety.
