Bomb Scare Blocks Roads In Downtown Modesto

MODESTO (CBS13) – The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department bomb squad has analyzed a device that raised suspicions in Modesto today and determined it was not an explosive.
There were some tense moments near the Transit Center just after 9:14 a.m. when someone found what they called a “device”, a piece of 4-inch pipe with its ends capped, sitting near an electrical box along 9th and J Streets, according to a Modesto Police Department statement.
