Body Found Floating In American River Confluence Near Auburn

AUBURN, Calif. (AP) – The body of an unidentified man has been found in the American River near Auburn.
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection says several people reported seeing a body moving with the swift currents Saturday afternoon.
Capt. Bryan Carter said crews aboard a California Highway Patrol helicopter located the body about a mile downstream. Rescue swimmers were sent to the area by boat and recovered the man about an hour later.
