Billionaire Backs Kevin de León in US Senate bid

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California billionaire Tom Steyer is endorsing state Sen. Kevin de León, the Democrat challenging U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein.
He could provide an influx of cash that de León badly needs to increase his name recognition. But Steyer tells the Los Angeles Times he doesn’t have “concrete plans” yet for creating an independent expenditure group to boost de León.
Steyer is a former hedge fund manager and huge Democratic donor.
