Census shows population fell in Monroe County, metro area

Monroe County's population fell by 0.5 percent and marked only the second decline in the county's history. The last was in 1980.Monroe County and the Rochester metropolitan area both lost population over the past decade, according to data released Tuesday by the U.S. Census Bureau.
