Lightning blamed for Plano house fire

The home in the 3400 block of Bright Star Way, near Jupiter Road and Spring Creek Parkway, was badly damaged before firefighters got to the scene, KTVT-TV says . A 14-year-old boy in the home smelled smoke about 2 a.m. and woke his parents and younger sisters so they could get out of the home safely, KDFW-TV reported .
