(CBS Detroit) — Pfizer announced last month that its COVID-19 vaccine has a 95 percent efficacy rate after the second dose. Recent documents suggest recipients could receive some protection even after the first dose. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has confirmed the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine, which could be approved for use in the United States by the end of this week. Pfizer’s FDA hearing is set for Thursday.
