Wheeling University Allowed To Continue Giving Degrees Under Certain Stipulations

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) – West Virginia education officials will allow the financially troubled Wheeling University to issue degrees if the college meets a list of conditions.
The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission on Friday voted to let the school confer degrees through May 2020. But the university must provide a five-year financial plan, ideas for shuttered academic programs and a formal breakdown for students if the college were to close.
